Viale Carlo Felice Park

In 1926, the architect Raffaele De Vico was commissioned to redesign the green area adjacent to the walls, along what is now Viale Carlo Felice. The park had four main flowerbeds planted with lawns, bordered by box hedges, two rows of pots with pomegranate bushes and ornamental shrubs in the ground, while a row of evergreen cypresses bordered the piazza.

After the demolition of the ATAC buildings, a vast redevelopment programme (1998-2000) saw the park redesigned, according to a project incorporating the various historical phases, reflected by paths at various heights, from Viale Carlo Felice to the Aurelian walls.

The park area falls under the jurisdiction of the Environment Department of the Municipality of Rome, and is currently being adopted by the Friends of the Carlo Felice Park Association, which takes care of its maintenance.
